While a love of language and literature has been with me as long as I can remember, from high school Spanish to Russian and Polish in college, the idea of literary translation only beckoned after beginning my study of Icelandic. The unique history and rich literary tradition of this remote island made me want not only to enjoy these stories, but to share them with others.
I called Reykjavík home from 2017-2021, where in 2019 I completed the BA program in Icelandic as a Second Language at the University of Iceland, then remained to pursue my interest in literary translation. I am primarily focused on the work of Gyrðir Elíasson, as well as keeping up with the exciting new wave of young Icelandic writers.
